Recently Read - Game of Thrones

I finally finished this epic book - A Game of Thrones. And no, I don't mean I've finished the whole series. I mean I've finished the first book. Yup, only the first book.

This was one of my Summer Goals, so I wanted to follow up on my progress. I think I finished in October, and it was a bit of a struggle. No, not because I hate reading, but because I watched the HBO Series before I read the book. It took out a lot of the suspense, and it's a mistake I won't make with the next book.

And I will read the next book, because I really enjoy the story and the characters. I think Arya is my most favorite character, and I think she's heading down an interesting path. Anyone else reading these?

  1. I finished the third book in the series last month. I'm on the hold list at the library for the next one. Love these books!

  2. I'm about halfway through this book, knitting and reading.at same time. I like Arya and Tyrion too, so far. I guess I'm getting into it, because I felt sick when Bran was injured.

    1. I need the Kindle versions so I can knit and read at the same time, too! I have the little paperbacks, and they're hard to keep open while knitting.

  3. Yes I'm reading these. I'm actually watching the shows first before I read the books... you can never be disappointed that way :)

  4. They changed a decent amount of studs from the book in the second season, so if you can managed to hold off on watching it the book shouldn't be too hard to finish! I just finished the fourth one, and it also took me a while--I think mostly because it's really hard to knit and read the books at the same time since we have the tiny paperback versions.
