This cardigan was technically my first FO of 2013, finished on January 1st. My BFF, Annie, requested a sweater for Christmas this year, and she picked everything out. The pattern is
Effortless by Hannah Fettig, which I'm sure you've seen around the block once or twice by now.
The yarn is my favorite - Knit Picks Comfy Worsted - in Seraphim, a pretty grey-violet. It's a bit short on me, because Annie is a bit short, but you get the gist.
Every Christmas I am resolute: NO sweaters. For anyone. ...And then every Christmas, someone has to ask for the perfect sweater that I totally want to knit them (on size 10 needles), and wear me down. Next year will be the year of no Christmas sweaters. Yup, NEXT year.
that is a LOT of stockinette!
ReplyDeleteso this is a xmas present for 2013?!?!
Oh, I wish I was that far ahead! Nope, Christmas 2012.
DeleteThat looks like a great sweater to work on while watching movies!
ReplyDeletePS You should knit yourself a sweater for Christmas! I think that's a good plan.
I love your plan.
DeleteYou make me want an Effortless of my own! But as soon as I finish my last Jilted sleeve, I am done with stockinette for a while. This is lovely on you and the soft color is perfect for a drapery sweater.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's totally mind-numbing. Good for a sweater every once in awhile, but not sweater after sweater.
DeleteYour Effortless is beautiful. It looks so cozy.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYou are so generous to knit a cardigan for your friend! It looks great though, I hope she loves it.
ReplyDeleteShe definitely does. And she's a special friend, so she deserves it. ;)
DeleteThat is gorgeous! What a lovely pattern. I think I need to add it to my to do list.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, definitely add it - it's a good one to work on while watching TV.
Deleteit's gorgeous! you are SO good. You look beautiful against that yellow backdrop btw ; )
ReplyDeleteThanks, m'lady! Yeah, I'm a sucker for that yellow wall, now. Every time Chris takes pictures, I walk over to it immediately!
DeleteThis is SO cute! What a gorgeous color! Lucky friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, lady!
DeleteSo cute! I still have mine on the needles. I'll finish it one day! Haha =]
