My favorite Christmas memory is when my brother and I figured out that it was my mother eating santa's cookies, haha!
ReplyDeleteThose are soooo cute! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteOne Christmas tradition we've started with our kids is an Advent house calender. Behind each door is something in the true spirit of Christmas like spending time together doing a craft, reading from the children's Bible, donating to the homeless shelter, even going on a carriage ride. It's exciting for the whole family!
Oh, I love the owls! I have a thing for owls. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

I love the ornaments! We always have German Pancakes and sausage for breakfast on Christmas morning.
ReplyDeleteIf I happen to be the lucky winner you can contact me through my blog www.radseams.com/blog
Love all of your ornaments and broaches! When I was little, my little sister and I would wake up as early as we could on christmas morning, go down to the living room, and put on the old Chipmunk's Christmas album to "wake" my parents up. Of course, it was mostly the scratchy noises from the record player that did the waking up, and little did we know they had been up forever (hence the smell of already-made-coffee and breakfast), but we loved the idea that the Chipmunks singing "Me I want a hulla-hoop" would wake them up. Now I have the song on my ipod, and it remains one of my fav holiday tunes!!

The hot chocolate mugs are cutttee
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stuff! Nice work!! Yesterday, my two little girls (3 and 5) decided that it would be hysterical to hang their underwear from the tree as a surprise for me. I didn't notice for several hours and when I did I was laughing so hard I almost peed my own underwear!

ReplyDeleteI usually watch my mom's crazy 80's VHS tape of favorite Christmas specials from when I was a kid-Sesame Street Christmas, Mickey's Christmas Carol, etc while we make cookies together. The best part are the hilarious commercials.

Great stuff! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love the felted food you made in previous post. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteThese are all so cute! One of our big holiday traditions is that we always make homemade pizza on Christmas. It was something my hubby's family did, and I thought it was too cute (and delicious!) not to carry on. Thanks for the kind giveaway, Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletethese are so cute!! there is a national gingerbread house competition that is hosted here locally at the grove park inn. we go there each year and see the 100s of entries. this year included hot chocolate in rocking chairs in front of the largest stone fireplace ever!

ReplyDeleteLovely ornaments & brooches! I've been collecting handmade ornaments for my Christmas tree & one of these would make a lovely addition (crossing my fingers)!

So cute, Love you style. Santa always leaves me a box of my favorite cereal next to my stocking :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cute felt ornaments you made! Very pretty and oh so different.
ReplyDeleteWhat I always loved were the 4 Sundays before Christmas, Advent. Every Sunday evening all the lights would be turned off and the candles would be lit, with soft Christmas music on the background. It was always so peaceful with the eight in our family!
And, living in Germany then, there was almost always a lot of snow.
And while I write this, there it is snowing outside and there is Christmas music on the radio.
Thank you for giving us a chance to win such a lovely ornament!
Very cute goodies!
ReplyDeleteA favorite tradition is making Jesus a birthday cake and singing happy birthday. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletesimply.simon.sisters(at)gmail(dot)com
I was just lucky enough to win one of your great pieces (which arrived over the weekend and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!) so you don't have to enter me, but I wanted to stop by and say HI!
ReplyDeleteSo so cute! Thanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I never have the patience to do anything with detail work like that, and everything always comes out crooked!
ReplyDeleteMy holiday tradition is doing a ton of baking, but then having to give most of it away, because for some reason I don't eat my own baking! (I'm doing pretty well with it this year, though. ;p)
Great! I like the coffee mugs and the hearts the best!
ReplyDeleteOh, these are adorable. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is making a nativity with my family each Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, you know, once things calm down. ;) We sometimes eat our nativities (if they're gingerbread) or color them (if they're paper drawings) or whatever we feel like. It's fun.
ammieloris at hotmail dot com
Love the little mustaches! A funny Christmas story we re-tell every year is about the one time our housekeeper put my white unicorn eraser in the nativity scene. I was so heartbroken that I had lost my favorite eraser but then was delighted to find it sitting by Baby Jesus!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute ornaments! My birthday is the 17th, and winning would make the day extra-special.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite traditions is making pigs-in-a-blanket for breakfast Christmas morning every year with my Mom. I lost her to cancer a couple months ago. It's going to be so hard this Christmas, but I think I'll still make the pigs-in-a-blanket.
I like them all and would have a tough time choosing.
ReplyDeletejmclean at mts dot net
Moustaches rule! I love them all, but hands down the moustaches are by far the coolest.
ReplyDeleteAs far as holiday traditions go, I'm the designated pie maker.. something I'm 100% okay with!
I was raised Baptist by very quirky parents and every Christmas morning before we could open any gifts we had to have breakfast, read the story of Jesus' birth, and then have birthday cake after singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. Now that I have a family of my own that I'm not raising Christian, we do a solstice birthday cake every year for the SUN instead of SON.
ReplyDeleteI love the ornaments and the brooches are adorable too.
Oh, my heavens, those are beyond cute!!!!!! I'm rushing off to Etsy to mark your shop as a favorite.
ReplyDeleteAs for a holiday tradition, my mom and I always made pomanders with oranges and cloves. They smelled so good but the cloves were evil on my little fingers.

ReplyDeleteHmm a holiday tradition. we used to go out to a movie on Christmas that was always fun because we got to see the Mall totally empty something I always found amusing. And we would give the workers gift certificates because they had to work on Christmas...
So cute! I love the mustaches!
ReplyDeleteour only tradition that has lasted since I can remember is "santa" bringing chocolate covered cherries. we HAVE to open that present first and we pass it around and around until they are gone. Now that the family has grown, santa has to buy 3 pkgs!

ReplyDeleteA tradition at our house is to go out and hunt for a bird's nest to put in our tree. It's said to be good luck to get a tree with a nest, so we get our own!
what a delightful giveaway, thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeletelimes.sweet(at)gmail(dot)com
One year when we were little, my parents put "reindeer poop" by the tree. Christmas morning when we got up, we were so excited we didn't see the "poop" and my sister sat in it when she sat by the tree to look at her gifts. The "poop" was really dried cow poop (not smelly).
ReplyDeleteThese are great!
ReplyDeleteI asked my daughter what she wanted for Christmas a few weeks ago and she said a rainbow, to make people happy (she's three). It was so cute. If only that were possible right?

thanks so much for a chance to win......I'd pick an Owl! either as brooch or an ornament.
Happy Sewing and Merry Christmas
Growing up in MN, I can't remember a Christmas without snow. We would have a Christmas program in our church...the kids would all be wearing white capes with black bows, the lights in the church would be dim and all the kids would be carrying a lit candle in a cone shaped paper cup. We would then march up the aisle singing "Come All Ye Faithful". After the church service it was tradition to get a brown paper sack with peanuts, an apple, an orange, and a Hershey's chocolate bar inside. Then home to open presents. We had to take turns opening our gifts and Mom would always save the wrapping paper and ribbons.
ReplyDeleteIf I win, could I please have either a heart or a tea cup?

Holy crap, Katie! Look at all these people who came to visit you! Just don't forget your loyal fans on your rise to blog stardom ;)
ReplyDeleteLast year for Christmas, Buck made my 8 year old girl dreams come true when he got me the Molly doll (American Girl) that I had always wanted, but never got because my mom is a bit scroogie. It was a lovely surprise, although as an adult, I don't know what to do with her...pray for baby girls!!
These are all adorable! What a fun giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteNext weekend is my family's annual shopping dash; it started on a whim one year but has become a family-christmas-tradition. Everyone meets at the dollar store and brings just $5 to spend. Once there, we draw names and have just 15 minutes to shop. Then we go home and exchange the gifts we dashed around the store buying. It is SO fun to see what gifts everyone puts together, but the best part is running around the store, trying to be stealth, so no one else can see what you are buying or figure out who you are shopping for! It's fun! :)
I love the 'stach ornament! How cute! Thanks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! Robyn (dot) Geddes (at) gmail (dot) com
WOW - these are just too cute:) Our holiday tradition is that I make my family dress to a theme for Christmas day. it is usually a colourway - the year my daughter moved to Canada (we live in NZ) we dressed in red and white in her honour. Last year all 3 of the 'kids' (now 16, 21 and 23) were home so it is actually getting a wee bit harder to make them fit in with mumsys wishes in clothing!!! However I hit gold - bought white racer back singlets and appliqued a red funky letter on the front and back of each one. We all wore our own denim shorts of various styles. Had everyone totally confused until it came to photo time - when we lined up one way we spelt MERRY and when we turned around an regrouped we spelt XMAS!... then had fun seeing how many other words we could spell!!!! Not sure how I'm going to top that one this year:) Ciao
ReplyDeletehaha, i love the mustaches!!! :)

ReplyDeleteAll your creations are beautiful.
Loved visiting your blog - your items are beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI really love the little owls! I wish I had the patience for stitching together ornaments and brooches.
ReplyDeleteBack in the day, right before Christmas, my mom and I would get together with my grandma, aunt, and cousins and we would make batch after batch of hard candy... with the Lorain flavoring oils. My aunt had a formica table so we would spread powdered sugar on the table and then just pour the hot candy mixture on the table. When it cooled sufficiently (but not too much) we would cut it into strips with a pizza cutter and then with scissors. We usually filled up one of those giant Tupperware bowls with the candy and just kept mixing it together. Then we would fill little babyfood jars (decorate the tops) or small bags and give the candy out as gifts.
This is so great, thanks!

I'd love to get the owl. Do you want to know why? Three months ago my beloved father died, he gave me my nickname "owl" when I was a child, not because of my glasses, but because I was very quiet, lying awake in the middle of the night. My little owl...he used to say. I'm still sort of happy and sad at the same time when I see owls...missing him so much.
love them all!

These are so cute! Thanks for the chance to be in to win one. :-)
ReplyDeleteFor a completely different type of Christmas, imagine us down here in New Zealand, having to remember to apply lots of sunblock on Christmas Day while having a bbq lunch and singing carols about snow and reindeer! (Yes, Santa's outfit is a bit out of place down here. There are kids Christmas books with him having a beach holiday for Christmas to try to make it fit the traditions! ;-)

These make my heart sing! Almost everything on our tree is handmade, were just starting out so I just make a few more every year, this would make such a lovely addition! Thanks for the chance!

Very, very cute. I can't decide whether I like the owls or teacups better. Glad to have found your blog... we're close by, up in Evanston.

Love the brooches.
ReplyDeleteOur strange holiday tradition is called The Festival of Jewish Lawyers, which we attend on Xmas Eve. It was started by our friends' parents who are not Jewish, but who knew a lot of Jewish lawyers and judges who didn't have anything to do on Xmas Eve, so they decided to have a party!

These are too darling! Oh, how I hope I win :) As for a family tradition... My fiance and I have begun our own tradition, which we started last year. I taught him how to make Oreo Truffles, and he is a BIG help with crunching all of the Oreo's until they are very fine in a walmart bag before mixing some of our Secret Ingredients and then dipping them in some yummy Chocolate. We have such a blast making these yummy treats, and memories to hopefully last a lifetime!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteadorable ornaments and brooches! We always make sugar cookies and decorate them- we create such a mess in the kitchen but it is such great messy fun
ReplyDeleteSuper cute felty goodness!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas baking, and having friends over to decorate the cookies. Makes for some rather unorthodox cookies...
Thanks for the chance.

I just love the owls -- no matter as ornament or brooch. :) Thanks for the chance to win one of them!
ReplyDeleteDo you know the song WONDERFUL DREAM by Melanie Thornton? If not, look it up at YouTube -- it's my favorite holiday song. :)
Gorgeous feltiness! My fav Christmas memory is the fact that my 3 siblings and I continued to go to my parents' place on Christmas Eve and put out a stocking cause my gorgeous mum felt obliged for Santa to fill it if it was there! hehe... she finally put a stop to it a few years ago (we're all in our late 20s and early 30s! hehe).
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
