Happy New Year!

I had quite the enjoyable holiday break. After arriving in Michigan for Christmas, I was showered with crafty presents, including Heather Ross fabric, a Knit Picks sock kit, and one of Anna Maria Horner's scarf kits.

Christmas knitting and Christmas present!

Unfortunately, as you can see in the above picture... I still have Christmas knitting left to do. Apparently I'm extending the holiday season? I'm knitting the Season-Spanning Cardi in Knit Picks Shine Worsted for my great aunt Mary Lou, and despite starting it a few days before Christmas, it's been coming along.

Chris and I took a little New Years trip to Denver to visit my friends Annie and Tom. I had never been to Denver, so of course I had to go directly to Denver's biggest attraction, Casa Bonita:

Casa Bonita!

Wow, this restaurant was amazing. Terrible Mexican food, cliff divers, a mariachi band and a guy in a gorilla suit - what more could you want? We had a great time in Denver, Casa Bonita aside, and ate a lot of good food, shopped in cute shops, and visited the history museum.

It was a great holiday, but I'm happy to be back in Chicago. I've already jumped into my next show, Escape from the Haltzberg Boys' Choir. I'm playing accordion in the band, and it's been challenging, to say the least. I'll be back later with some holiday project wrap-ups, goals and other fun stuff. Yay, 2011!

But get finished with that scarf already so you can cast on your Beatnik! hehe
