  2. Well, fortunately, my holiday isn't usually much on the crazy side...there was the one time that my garbage disposal broke the day before Thanksgiving on the ONE TIME I decided to host....but I'm pretty sure that happens to everyone! LOL! Thanks for the chance to win this fabulous bag! jinglesells at gmail dot com

The craziest thing that ever happened to me during the holidays was that once I was so busy I had to join a soup co-op in order to eat meals that weren't chips.

  14. Oh my goodness, that is an awesome bag! Probably the craziest thing that has happened to me at the holidays is the way I have to put up with really personal questions from nosy relatives. I had one ask me last year in a noisy, crowded kitchen, if I had "had the change yet?" Sheesh!

We were taking our Christmas tree down, and were having trouble fitting through the door. My husband yanked the tree, pulling me outside with it, and the door slammed behind me. Locking our 3-month-old inside by himself. I had to break and crawl through a basement window!

  39. Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bag. Fingers crossed! I grew up in the Southern Hemisphere and I had a halter swim-suit one year that my sister liked to unfasten without me knowing it. So the craziest thing that ever happened to me in the holidays is standing up in the surf, and realising I was naked to the waist! Thanks sis!! She did it repeatedly - I must be a slow learner!

  40. What a gorgeous, gorgeous bag - I love it.

Craziest thing that happened to me during the holidays? Hmmm... Can't really think of anything that is truly crazy. I can tell you about one Xmas when my brother and I were both 2000km away from 'home' and we decided to do a South Park marathon and pizza for Xmas. It was such a strange thing to do and filled with so many good memories :)

Thank you for a great giveaway.

  41. What an adorable bag!

Craziest holiday thing for me ... probably the year my brothers and I took the train from Detroit to San Fran to pick up the last brother, then drove up the coast to Seattle to see the parents. Four siblings trapped in a little car ... oh the pranks we played! We lost a camera in the surf, we stayed up way too late, we teased and tormented each other. Wacky days!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh my, what a lovely bag! Thank you so much for this wonderful giveaway.

Sadly (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I lack crazy holiday stories, unless "so wonderful it's crazy" counts. In that case I'd mention getting to skate at a historic olympic stadium last year. The event had a complete vintage theme, with most of the skaters dressed up accordingly and the music they played in to accompany us on the ice being delightfully old fashioned as well. It was almost like stepping into another time when we stepped onto the ice, and as an avid, if clumsy, skater and lover of all things retro & vintage, it was heaven for me!

  43. I amazingly have no crazy stories. Our holidays are usually pretty tame and normal - luckily. I'm sure that might change as my kids get older. They're still really young. :)
    Love this bag!

  44. I have no "crazy" stories, but one Christmas when I was about 7, my sister was 6 and my brother was 2, we all loaded up in VW pop-top and drove down to Cabo (we lived just north of San Francisco). We spent about 3 weeks there and back and it was the best Christmas ever. Not many physical presents, but amazing memories!

  46. Rumor has it that my dad left all the Christmas presents at home the year we drove to Texas. And this, after my parents had to convince us that Santa would still find us. This year, however, the most crazy thing is that they've decided to turn off the heat to work on it. In December.

  50. weftandwarp(at)hotmail(dot)com, love the look of your little bag!! While holidaying on a resort island my horse ran into the back of some cyclists..I had absolutely no control over the beast and then it tried to swipe me off its back by galloping under trees with branches low enough to hit me. When that didn't work it just stopped dead in it's tracks and would not be cajoled into moving again...this happened long enough ago for me to forget just how I got it and me back to the stables. I think I just got off in disgust and walked back, it was not the best horse-riding experience I ever had!

  54. 3yrs ago, Christmas, my oven stopped working an hour into the turkey cooking time. I ended up cutting it into pieces and shoving it into my 2 crockpots and cooking everything else in the microwave. I kept my cool through the whole day, until it came time to clean up after dinner. I sat on the floor in the middle of my kitchen and sobbed. My hubby came in and sat on the floor with me and just let me cry. When I was done he told me it was the best Christmas dinner, ever and gave me my diamond earrings. He had held them back from the present opening, knowing I was going to need something happy at the end of the day.
Thank you for a great giveaway!

  55. I have no crazy holiday stories, only the sad kind. :( Oh, wait, I thought of one. A few years ago my friends decided to spend new years on the Appalachian trail between PA and NJ. I wasn't the idea girl so I figured someone else had this sorted out. They didn't. We spent one FREEZING night on the trail, crying and drunk. Came home the next day and my friend realized she had lost her rosary (yes, I said rosary), her vintage actual ruby rosary. So we all went back and could never find it. Also for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to smoke most of a whole pack of champagne flavored Camel cigarettes. Oh to be young again.

Right anyway, love the bag, hope I win it! sarahpolicastro at gmail dot com

  57. I can't think of a crazy holiday story....unless Easter counts. My lab ate an entire Easter basket full of chocolate while we were at church and in a quick fast hurry I had to call the vet to figure out what to do. The vet said I needed to quickly give her hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. So, into the backyard we went...me still in my Easter best...with hydrogen peroxide and a baby medicine syringe. Well, needless to say, the dog did not like the peroxide and I had to do some crazy ninja moves to get it in her. It immediately had the desired effect and she promptly barfed on my brand new shoes....some cute black duponi silk slip-ons from Chinese laundry. Hydrogen peroxide and vomit have a crazy effect on black silk...it bleached them completely. LOL! So there I am in bleached shoes,in the backyard, putting ninja moves on poor Molly the black Lab as she vomits the most beautiful sparkly tinfoil vomit you've ever seen all over. Sigh...and ofcourse my kids are faces are plastered to the back door in horror as I abuse the dog. I'm sure they thought they were next! Hubby is military and was overseas through the whole thing. On a good note tho my puppy survived and I got new shoes :-)

Crazy holidays - cooking thanksgving dinner for a crowd when my oven dies Thanksgiving day. Gave "Meals on Wheels" a whole new meaning!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I haven't had anything too crazy happen on the holidays - just stuff like kids getting really sick or having really bad weather and running the car into snow that drifted across the road.

    ReplyDelete
  61. The craziest thing is one of our sweetest memories. Two years ago we were snowed in for two weeks before Christmas. We walked to Christmas dinner at our neighbor's house by crossing the pasture in hip-high snow. On the way home, we were led by the lights of our house on the hill. magical. Still, for two former Californians, crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  62. The crazy thing that happened to us a few years ago was the oven broke on Wednesday---the day before Thanksgiving. We had to carry everything over to my mom's apartment, cook, and bring it back to out house where there would be more room for all the guests.

The second craziest was the wednesday before (again!) my daughter got sick with gut-wrenching stomach pains. Her doctor was gone so I went to his brother who was covering for him. Only this guy was over an hour a way. Turns out it was "only" stomach flu which showed up the next day in full force!

My house is always crazy during the Holidays! I remember a time where my dad decided to deep fry the turkey in the back yard. My sisters and I were upstairs... windows open, enjoying the nice weather- when all of a sudden this giant flame shoots up and practically singes our eyebrows off! Luckily, my dad was fine- can't say the same for the turkey =)

  65. My mother-in-law--a fastidious housekeeper--came to visit us for the first time, to arrive on Christmas Eve. I'd cleaned and polished and tidied and was getting ready for bed the night before. I heard a scrabbling/tussling sound under the house, animal shrieks...and then, a skunk gas attack. Yep, a skunk let loose under the house, in the crawl space. A clean house, but a smell one. Thanks for the chance to win!

  68. What a neat bag! It looks very sturdy and I think it needs to come live at my house. :)

I think the craziest thing that's ever happened to me during the holidays is the year I burst 2 disks in my lower back. I was home on Christmas but was doped to the gills with narcotic painkiller, and then I had surgery and came home on New Year's Eve. I stood up and watched the big ball drop because sitting down wasn't all that comfortable! Luckily there have been no repeats of that particular incident.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Well, here's a crazy thing that happened on a holiday, not Christmas though.
We were sure we had the time right for our flight back from our honeymoon. Turns out that I was incorrect(!). The plane hadn't left yet, but they wouldn't take out ticket until they had 'helped' the plane take off. Hello?! WE had to use our wedding money to purchase tickets home. Then we got a credit for the company for another flight as a 'sorry about that', but the company went out of business.
    Hope I win!!

  112. What a sweet bag!

A couple years ago, one of my packages did not arrive by Christmas eve, as promised. I called customer service for the merchant and spoke with a very nice fellow in India, who, when I relayed my tale, exclaimed, "So now you have no presents under the Christmas tree? JESUS CHRIST!" I often wonder if that call was monitored.

When I was younger, I got a ring for christmas. I put it on, a little snug but ok. Later I couldn't take it off, so we had to go to the ER on xmas eve!

  120. Hmmm...though the holidays always seem so crazy, I can't seem to recall a story. Well, we used to get together with my mom's family for Christmas every year - and for about four years in a row, every single one of us would get sick over the holidays. And really sick, like flu sick, not some chest cold...I remember it well. :o( But it usually waited until after Xmas to kick in, so at least there's that!

    Cute bag!

  121. I can't recall doing anything crazy during the holidays. I am not usually a risk taker. Thanks for the chance.

  122. Love that bag. Craziest thing that ever happened to me was answering the phone at my grandparents house and having it be the cops. I thought they were calling about a noise violation (we were loud) but instead someone had dialed 911 nineteen times in fifteen minutes. Turns out my little cousin was dialing 911 repeatedly because my other cousin wasn't letting him jump on the bed when it was his turn. The cops showed up to his complete surprise and gave him a very stern talking to.

  123. i love the bag. fussbudgetry (((@))) gmail

the craziest thing is perhaps something that happened today. my husband and i are both unemployed, and a dear internet friend instructed me to 'be home between four and eight' and safeway.com delivered about $200 worth of groceries to us that she had ordered from WA. pretty amazing, and i am in shock every time i walk through the kitchen to see how much food there is.

cheers!!! i would love to win & would put it to good use.

  124. Cute bag! It looks like a teddy bear. The craziest thing that ever happened to me was the Thanksgiving a week after my first baby was born. My mom came to prepare dinner because I was supposed to stay off my feet, but then she had to lie down with a migraine and I had to get up and do everything anyway! Merry Christmas!

  125. That bag is the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen!
The craziest thing that has happened to me during the holiday's: when I was a young girl, our tree was so dry and mom was burning a candle well needless to say the tree caught fire! We were absolutely lucky that it had only burned the tree but we had the cutest little Charlie Brown Tree because it was so close to Christmas that there were no trees left!

  126. Your bag is the perfect size and color. Thank you for sharing it! For Thanksgiving (or was it Christmas?) one year we drove from where we lived in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to my grandparents in San Antonio, TX. It was so cold in tx that the snow on top of the car didn't melt. We had a snowball fight with our cousins with the only snow in the state.

  127. What a gorgeous bag! Thanks for such a nice giveaway! Alas, I have no interesting holiday stories...I guess that is a good thing, right?

  128. This bag is awesome -- it's like a portable pet--hee hee! Truly love it! Hmmm...not too many crazy Christmas stories (fun ones! not crazy though!) -- perhaps the year my aunt decided to be a human Christmas tree and wrapped herself in several strings of Christmas lights?

  129. I don't really get a lot of craziness. I can't even think of anything fun enough to share, really. I do love your bag tho! ;)

  130. I left the innards in the very first turkey I ever baked. Luckily it was in a paper package. I think your purse is super cute. Very vintage looking.

  131. The bag is great! The craziest thing that ever happened to me during the holidays was when a group of us went to Ireland the day after Christmas and all eight of our luggage got left behind in New York. It took a day or two to get to us. :)
